Lourdes
Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes

At the foot of the Pyrenees the grotto of Massabielle still draws those who come with illness, gratitude, or a name they cannot set down anywhere else. Water, stone, and the evening procession make a simple grammar of hope. The Gave moves past; candles stand in long, trembling ranks.
A pilgrim of Palomeya lights a candle at the sanctuary and carries your intention to Holy Mass. Palomeya is not the shrine and does not speak for it. Someone goes, remains for the prayer among the other quiet faces, and brings back the proof of having been there.
