St. Peter's Basilica

Under the dome of St. Peter's the scale is almost more than the eye can hold. Pilgrims cross the square, pass the colonnade, and enter a nave that has received the prayers of a continent. Beneath the altar the memory of the fisherman remains; above it the light falls in a wide, pale circle.
A pilgrim of Palomeya attends Holy Mass or offers the intention in the basilica, standing among strangers who have come for the same reason: to leave a name before the apostle. The church remains itself. Palomeya only sends the one who walks in, remains for the rite, and steps back into the square.
